Returning STATIC-X Guitarist To Carry On With REVOLVE Project
March 18, 2005STATIC-X frontman Wayne Wells (a.k.a. Wayne Static) has issued the following statement regarding the recent announcement that guitarist Koichi Fukuda was rejoining the band:
"There seems to be a little confusion over Koichi's new involvement in STATIC-X and I hope this post will clear things up for everyone.
"Has Koichi joined STATIC-X? Yes, he played on the new record and his face will be on the album cover along with Tony, Nick, and myself. He will be touring with us in support of this record.
"Has Koichi left the band REVOLVE? No, he will be a part of both bands for as long as he desires. Koichi is talented enough to play in two bands just as Tony is also in ASESINO and Tripp was in the MURDERDOLLS. It's just a matter of scheduling. Anyone who is a fan of REVOLVE should not feel threatened by Koichi's involvement with STATIC-X. If anything, they should be excited and view this as an opportunity to bring more exposure to REVOLVE."
Fukuda rejoined STATIC-X in early March as the replacement for Tripp Eisen, who was dismissed from the group late last month following reports that Eisen was arrested by authorities in two states on charges that include kidnapping, sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child. The charges stem from two separate incidents involving sexual relations with minors.
